Beautiful Bokeh Card
This is one of the cards my club members made at our January Meeting. The Bokeh Technique gives such a beautiful result, it's easy to do but the white ink can take a bit of time to dry. I'd love to know if you give this technique a try!
Select 3 colors that will co-ordinate well together.
Mask the area that you would like to be colored, I like to use washi tape. I adhere it to my jeans a time or two to help remove some of the tackiness...I found this to be an important step. It prevents tearing when you remove it from your project.
With your lightest color, use a sponge dauber to ink several circles.
Add more circles with your medium shade color. Again, with a sponge dauber and in circular shapes.
Add your third color
Make sure there is no white from the cardstock showing through. Use whichever colors(s) you think will balance out your colors.
Make a mask by cutting the 2 smallest circles from the layering circles framelits out of a small piece of window sheets.
Using white craft ink and sponge dauber, ink circles randomly over your sponged area. Make sure to overlap some of your circles.
Use the sponge dauber itself to make a third sized circle.
Gently remove the washi tape.
Let the white ink dry, you can speed up the process by using the heat tool.
Decorate as desired.
